Hello! Looking for some local advice please.ĭo any of the car parks at Chadstone Shopping Centre have bus parking spots- not for public buses but of the mini bus (25 seat Rosa style) variety? I have looked online at the map and can see that the public buses are in Car Park F. I just felt, that for close to $250 for the five of us, it simply wasn't worth the expense. Look I don't like being a critic - clearly there were many kids there enjoying themselves. My wife wondered if that part might have made up for the rest but I doubt it. We didn't bother with the movie, as by then, the wonder and joy that my kids had before we arrived had evaporated, and we all wanted to leave. The video-making room had virtually no help to use the tablets and only a smattering of bricks, the indoor play areas were small and basic, compared to the usual offering of these things, and we had no chance of meeting a master builder as with one slot per hour (it was all finished by 15 mins past the hour we went there), the next one was all booked up. The second ride looked like it lasted about a tenth of the time one would have to queue for it, the various Lego pits looked pretty dirty, and there was so much crammed into a small space it was hard to move around. Then the displays of various creations, which were impressive I admit, although I was disappointed it was pretty much all Lego City themed - my boys wanted Star Wars, LOTR or super heroes! The first ride was fun enough, and of course it is all targeted at very young kids. The start was ok, a vaguely interactive journey showing how Lego is made. But I would have been ok with the sparse contents of the bag, had it not been for the Legoland experience itself. We paid extra to get the showbag, which had a simple activity book in the shape of a minifig, and a random basic minifig. Sorry to say, as I am an AFOL, and all my three kids love Lego, but this was really disappointing for us. This was and issue where people were eating on the fit cart, surely not ideal. The cafe and eating area was not clearly separated from the brick area. The Wizard ride was very short compared to time queuing. You have to queue for rides, which takes time out from having fun. Again a possible trip hazard but also didn’t look good. The 4D movie sprayed water, some of which stayed on the floor between screenings. This would be very annoying for some kids as well as adults!īlocks tend to be scattered over the floor, which could be a trip hazard. Secondly it was very noisy at times, largely due to the very loud movie introduction, which was loud enough to be unpleasant in the room, but even outside pretty annoying. It was not easy to find these, and when we did they have run out. In terms of possible improvement, it was recommended that hand sanitiser be used regularly. The coffee was good, and well done for having a a range of food for sake. The kids liked it, however there are some things that could really be better. We came on a weekend in a public holiday, it was very busy. The 4D movies were good, but not overly appropriate for very young children.Īn incredibly disappointing and disturbing experience, we would have thought the Lego brand would at least set some levels of standard in hygiene if nothing else. Half the staff there came across as if they were being forced to work there at gun point.Īs for Legoland as an attraction….over priced and not a lot on offer to keep people amused. Even light fittings hanging off the wall in the under 5 soft play area leaving wires exposed. Some of the interactive games didn’t work, with a lot of the iPads missing. The cafe didn’t have hot chips, donuts or milkshakes available. There were clumps of dust and rubbish in places on the ground, do the cleaners pick stuff up or just sweep it into piles? I get after a busy day things may possibly get a little ratty (which wouldn’t be an excuse anyway), but this was first thing in the morning! 1 of the 4 urinals was blocked and nearly overflowing, another one had pubic hair all over it. We were there when it opened at 0930, and the men’s toilets weren’t even cleaned from the day before.
